MUTUAL AID

Oklahomans Helping Oklahomans

At Organizing Okies, we believe in people taking care of each other. Mutual aid isn’t charity—it’s about communities supporting one another through shared resources, skills, and direct action. Everyone has something to give, and everyone deserves support when they need it.

How It Works

We don’t rely on large funding sources. When donations come in, they go straight to those in need. More importantly, we encourage community-driven aid—people bringing what they can and sharing what they have at our events. This can include:

✅ Food, water, and supplies

✅ Clothing, blankets, and hygiene items

✅ Skills and services—health checkups, legal clinics, haircuts, and more

✅ Connections to other organizations and safe spaces

Crisis Support &

De-Escalation

We know that in times of crisis, having someone to turn to can make all the difference. That’s why we’re building a trained, in-person Crisis Response Team—ready to listen, respond, and support those in need.

🧠 Crisis Response Team: Includes mental health providers and nurses trained in de-escalation, offering compassionate support to individuals facing emotional or mental health challenges. Whether someone needs a listening ear, immediate assistance, or help finding long-term resources, we’re here.

🎖 Additional Support for Veterans: We also have a veteran-based security team available for those who prefer to connect with someone who understands their unique experiences.

Our Growing Support Network

At our rallies and events, we provide a safe, judgment-free space where people can access help. Our volunteers include: 👩‍⚕️ Nurses & Mental Health Providers offering basic health aid and crisis support ⚖️ Attorneys interested in hosting free legal clinics 💇 Barbers & Hairstylists providing haircuts 💡 Other Community Members offering skills, services, and resources

We want to grow this network! If you have a skill, resource, or service to offer, we invite you to join us.
